Kim Fowley Jr. - Son of Frankenstein

1981 - Moxie Records

Rare release by the legendary Kim Fowley under the guis of a non-existent son. Pretty amazing and out there material on this release. Starts off with a few great rockers then lots of Synthisizer stuff with his rock scene L.A. poety. I can't find any info on this record but found it last year and digitized the Lp. No Reissue in sight as far as I know.

Kim Fowley if you don't know is a legendary and eccentric producer from L.A. who's writen songs for KISS, pretty much formed the Runaway's and been behind the scene's for a lot of records. Search his name and check his website, its a TRIP!

Highly Recommended!

Hey, great blog, much appreciated. Thanks for the effort. One thing though - I tried to download Robbie Basho three times, and something is wrong, I cannot extract the files. Any chance of the repost?

Cool blog...I've been curious about The Dead C for a while but have been too lazy to do anything about it...

Thanks for the great stuff.

I just downloaded the Basho and it extracted fine. I'm on a mac. Maybe try another unzip program.

Today it worked, with zip. How peculiar. Cheers anyway!

Love this Fowley, nice and creepy. He sounds pretty far gone on some tracks. Thanks a lot! Super shares, here.

Shit!, it is the third time I try to comment this recored. What a masterpiece!, thanks it has been a great inspiration for me. A man who can scare you and make laugh at the same time (Polaroid people) should be considered a genious. 'Destination Judy' is a great song also.

po-po-po-polaroid people

As far as I know this record was originally released as "Bad News From The Underworld" with an amazing cover.
showing Mr Fowley in a red leatherjacket having cowboyboots on his hands.
great to find it here in a different version.

Thanks for the music, FM!
I heard a record on the radio years ago which I thought was by Kim Phally but I guess the (U.S.) DJs voice threw me and it was this guy. The tune was a kind of 'close your eyes...' psychedelic journey monologue with the lines 'hey look! there are your friends! and hey! there's your girl...'
Does anyone know this tune?

Thank you!
It looks like this is the same as "Bad News FTU" but I'm downloading it anyway just to see. Thanks, great album!!

Dude, there's no apostrophe in The Runaways (or pretty much any other The [something]s band name in the world).

Kim Fowley Jr. Son of Frankenstein was re-released under the title Kim Fowley Bad News From The Underworld on Lolita Records (vinyl) and as a CD (Marilyn Records) in the 90s and the latter is probably still available through Bomp Records. It is available in MP3 download form from emusic and other outlets. You might want to remove your rip. As the co-author and co-producer of this LP, I don't care, but Kim might :o)>
